Nepali Peacekeepers Depart for Congo under Major Shrestha’s Command

A contingent of Nepali peacekeepers, led by Major Ratna Bahadur Shrestha, has departed for the United Nations Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO) to participate in peacekeeping operations.

The sixth and final group, consisting of 162 personnel from the 31st Battalion of the Chandi Dal Battalion, left for the mission area on Friday (Falgun 16) aboard a United Nations-chartered flight.

Currently, 1,149 Nepali peacekeepers, including one battalion, two regiments, staff, and military observers, are actively serving in the MONUSCO mission, contributing to peace and stability efforts in the region.
