Nepal’s Foreign Minister Embarks on Official Visit to China
Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba departed for China today on her first official visit since assuming office. The visit comes at the cordial invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and is aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and setting the stage for an upcoming high-level visit by Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
Dr. Rana was seen off at Tribhuvan International Airport by Officiating Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Amrit Bahadur Rai, along with other ministry officials.
During her visit, the Foreign Minister will engage in a bilateral meeting with her Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, on Friday. This meeting is expected to focus on advancing Nepal-China relations and finalizing preparations for Prime Minister Oli’s imminent visit to China, scheduled for next week.
Dr. Rana is set to return to Nepal on November 30. Prime Minister Oli’s forthcoming trip is anticipated to further enhance diplomatic and economic cooperation between the two nations.
