Nepal’s Samip Aryal Named Top Cybersecurity Expert by Meta
Nepal’s cybersecurity prowess continues to shine on the global stage as Samip Aryal, a young talent from the country, secures the top spot in Meta’s prestigious cybersecurity rankings. Meta, the parent company of Facebook, has acknowledged Aryal’s exceptional skills by honoring him as their foremost cybersecurity expert.
Aryal’s achievement stems from his discovery of a critical security vulnerability within the Facebook platform. His groundbreaking finding revealed a loophole that could potentially grant unauthorized access to Facebook accounts with just a single click. This significant contribution to cybersecurity has earned Aryal a prominent place in Meta’s White Hat Hall of Fame, a platform that celebrates ethical hackers for their efforts in making the digital world safer.
Sharing his accomplishment with the world, Aryal took to his social media to express gratitude and excitement for this recognition. This isn’t Aryal’s first accolade in the cybersecurity realm; in 2023, he ranked 27th in the White Hat Hall of Fame for his prior contributions to identifying security flaws within Facebook’s infrastructure.
Glad to announce that I’ve been rewarded with a valid Account Takeover (0-click/1-click) on Facebook (Meta) where I was able to compromise anyone’s Facebook account. With this, I have ranked No. 1 in Facebook’s Hall of Fame currently.#bugbounty #facebook #infosecurity pic.twitter.com/MvYWsBbF4n

Furthermore, Aryal isn’t alone in representing Nepal’s cybersecurity prowess. Bistrit Dahal and Sant Bahadur Gharti Magar, two other talented individuals from Nepal, have also made significant strides in the field. Dahal secured the 7th position, while Magar claimed the 9th spot in Meta’s cybersecurity rankings, further solidifying Nepal’s presence as a hub for cybersecurity excellence.
