New Nepali Ambassador Presents Credentials to Italian President
Ram Prasad Subedi, Nepal’s newly appointed Non-resident Ambassador to Italy, formally presented his credentials to President Sergio Mattarella at a ceremony in Quirinale Palace on Tuesday.
The ambassador was greeted with a ceremonial guard of honour upon his arrival. During the credential ceremony, Subedi conveyed greetings and best wishes from Nepal’s President Ramchandra Paudel and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, expressing hopes for President Mattarella’s health and the continued prosperity of Italy.

Ambassador Subedi emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation between Nepal and Italy in trade, tourism, investment, education, and cultural exchanges. He also highlighted the necessity of high-level visits to bolster bilateral relations.
Subedi briefed President Mattarella on Nepal’s recent political, social, and economic developments, outlining the priorities of Nepal’s government.
In response, President Mattarella congratulated Ambassador Subedi on his new role and assured him of Italy’s support, noting the shared cultural and civilizational ties and stressing the need for strengthened economic ties and increased people-to-people exchanges.
Later, Ambassador Subedi met with Riccardo Guariglia, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, at Farnesina Palace. They discussed enhancing bilateral relations, including economic cooperation, cultural exchanges, and the organization of a bilateral consultation mechanism.
