Nilam Dhungana Timsina Appointed Acting Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank

Senior Deputy Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), Nilam Dhungana Timsina, has been appointed as the Acting Governor of the central bank. The decision was made by the Ministry of Finance after the recommendation committee responsible for selecting a new Governor delayed its process.
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel assigned Timsina to the post under the authority granted by Section 27 of the Nepal Rastra Bank Act, 2058 BS.
A three-member committee, led by Finance Minister Paudel and including former NRB Governor Bijaya Nath Bhattarai and economist Bishwa Poudel, has been formed to recommend a candidate for the permanent Governor position.
