“No Director, No Audience, No Actors!”: Asim Shah Links Empty Parliament to Movie Hall
Asim Shah, a Member of Parliament from Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and a former producer, director, and ad filmmaker , posted a photo of the empty hall of the lower parliament on Facebook. In his post, he expressed his disappointment that the parliament is empty, likening it to a movie hall with no director, audience, or actors. He mentioned that the reason for the empty hall was related to the ” gold quintal’s share,” which appears to be a matter of contention.
“Even today, the parliament like movie hall is empty,
Neither the director came nor the audience nor the actors!
Reason?
The condition of quintal’s share not met!!”
The scheduled meeting of the House of Representatives, which was set to convene on Monday at 1 pm, was postponed until Tuesday at the same time. However, the proceedings have yet to begin, as the gold smuggling case has become a matter of intense public interest, demanding immediate attention and accountability.
In an effort to resolve the obstruction in the House, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli engaged in talks on the matter. Unfortunately, these discussions failed to yield a satisfactory resolution, leading the UML (Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist-Leninist) to express disappointment over the Prime Minister’s lack of a clear response regarding the gold smuggling case.
The UML has firmly asserted that the House cannot function effectively until a thorough investigation into the gold case is conducted, and the Home Minister steps down from his position.
