NPL: Ncell Foundation to Donate Educational Materials for Every Four Runs Scored
In a unique initiative, the Ncell Foundation has pledged to donate educational materials to students in rural and remote community schools across Nepal for every four runs scored during the ongoing Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket tournament.
“Cricket unites everyone. Through this initiative, we want to positively impact the lives of students in underprivileged areas,” said Bishakha Lakshmi Khadka, Head of Corporate Communication and CSR at Ncell.
The distribution of these materials will be coordinated with the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), local authorities, and other stakeholders, ensuring effective delivery to those in need.
NPL Partnerships and Fan Support Initiatives
Ncell, alongside Siddhartha Bank, is a “Powered By” partner for the NPL under its partnership with CAN. The collaboration highlights corporate efforts to blend sports with community impact.
In addition, Chitwan Rhinos, one of the eight franchise-based teams competing in the tournament, has announced a free bus service for its fans traveling from Chitwan to Kathmandu on match days.
The five buses will shuttle supporters from Chitwan Medical College to the Tribhuvan University cricket ground in Kirtipur and back, provided they carry valid match tickets.
The Rhinos are set to play their first match against Kathmandu Gurkhas on December 2, promising an exciting contest for fans both at the ground and beyond.
A Cricket Season with a Cause
The integration of cricket with a philanthropic mission sets a precedent for using sports as a platform to bring meaningful change. Fans and players alike are expected to rally behind this noble cause as the tournament progresses.
