NPL Winning Team to Receive Rs 11 Million Cash Prize
The champion of the inaugural Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket tournament will be awarded Rs 11 million in cash, announced the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN).
The runner-up team will receive Rs 5.1 million, while the second runner-up will earn Rs 2.5 million. Additionally, a consolation prize of Rs 1.5 million will be given to the fourth-placed team. CAN Spokesperson Chhumbi Lama revealed that the tournament’s best player will also be rewarded with a car.
The franchise-based cricket league, which began on November 30, is being held at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Kathmandu. Eight domestic teams, including Biratnagar Kings, Janakpur Bolts, Kathmandu Gurkhas, Chitwan Rhinos, Pokhara Avengers, Lumbini Lions, Karnali Yaks, and Sudurpaschim Royals, are competing in the tournament, which runs until December 21.
Four teams have advanced to the playoffs, while the other four have been eliminated, according to CAN. The tournament, organized with the aim of boosting cricket at the domestic level, has drawn significant attention from fans across Nepal.
