NTB Working to Ease Cross-Border Travel for Indian Tourists

The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has announced ongoing efforts to streamline cross-border travel for Indian tourists, aiming to enhance accessibility and promote Nepal as a key destination for religious and adventure tourism.
Speaking at a session on sustainable tourism during the Nepal Festival in New Delhi on Tuesday, NTB Senior Director Hikmat Singh Ayer highlighted that policy-level initiatives are being pursued to support and simplify the travel process for Indian visitors.
“India remains Nepal’s largest source of tourists,” Ayer said. “We are committed to deepening cooperation in tourism promotion with a long-term strategic approach.”
The Nepal Festival was jointly organized by the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi and the Everest Chamber of Commerce and Industries, with the goal of fostering stronger cultural and economic ties between Nepal and India.
As part of the event, the NTB hosted a pavilion that showcased Nepal’s tourism offerings. Dignitaries from both nations attended the festival, where visitors explored Nepali stalls, sampled traditional cuisine, and viewed exhibitions of handicrafts and locally made products.
