Oli Vows Support for Bharatpur’s Development
Chairman of the CPN-UML, KP Sharma Oli, affirmed his commitment to bolster the development of Bharatpur, emphasizing its potential as a key tourism hub during the opening ceremony of the Bharatpur Visit Year.
Addressing a crowd of around 50,000 attendees, including dignitaries like Prime Minister Prachanda, former prime ministers, chief ministers, parliamentarians, singers, and artists gathered at the Narayani River bank in Chitwan, Oli expressed his support for the city’s growth.
“I came here because I could not refuse the invitation,” remarked Oli. “I and my party are ready to contribute to the development here. I will always stand with you.”
Highlighting Chitwan’s potential as a tourism hotspot, Oli envisioned the region’s transformation into a thriving tourism destination. He also announced plans to visit Chitwan with his family within the upcoming year, underscoring his personal interest in the city’s progress.
Oli extended his best wishes to Renu Dahal, the Mayor of Bharatpur metropolis, who is the daughter of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal. He acknowledged the ambitious targets set by Bharatpur metropolis, aiming to attract around 200,000 foreign tourists and 500,000 domestic tourists annually.
Mayor Dahal outlined the objectives of the Tourism Year, emphasizing the spotlight on Bharatpur’s attractions nationally and internationally, with the overarching goal of fostering economic prosperity through sustainable tourism development.
