Our traditional knowledge and skills needs to be used for people’s welfare: President Paudel
President Ramchandra Paudel has said that the goals envisioned by our elders can be reached only if the country can be taken to the path of prosperity through political stability, development and good governance.
Addressing a program organized by Dr Dilliraman Kalyani Regmi Library Development Committee at the Office of the President in Sheetal Niwas today, President Paudel said that our traditional experience, knowledge and skills should be utilized for the best interests of the country and people.
“Good governance, development and prosperity should be our national determination and commitment,” He said.
President Paudel said that the personality of Dr Regmi, who played a historical role in the democratic movement of Nepal, was multifaceted and said that his contribution to the political, literary and social fields of Nepal was always inspiring.
He remembered Regmi’s contribution to make Nepal known to the world by writing the history of Nepal in English language.
Also speaking at the function, Minister of Education, Science and Technology Bidya Bhattarai pledged to work to make Dr Dilliraman Kalyani Regmi library organized and dynamic.
This year’s Dilliraman Regmi National Award worth one hundred thousand rupees has been given to veteran and distinguished journalist Bhairav Risal and the International Peace Award to Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
