Over 51,000 Foreign Tourists Visit Mustang in First Four Months of 2025

Foreign tourist arrivals in Mustang district have surged in early 2025, with a total of 51,896 visitors recorded by the end of April, according to the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) Office in Jomsom.
ACAP Chief Rajesh Gupta reported that of the total, 8,745 tourists were from SAARC countries, while 43,151 came from other nations. This marks a 36.6% increase compared to the same period in 2024, when 37,974 foreign visitors were registered.
Local hotelier Suraj Gurung attributed the growing interest in Mustang to its natural beauty, cultural richness, and religious significance. Many Indian tourists also visit the region to worship at the sacred Muktinath Temple, a revered site for both Hindus and Buddhists.
