Palestinian President Renews Call for International Pressure on Israel to Halt Gaza Genocide

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas reiterated his call on the international community to pressure the Israeli occupation government to halt the war of genocide being unleashed on the Gaza Strip. He stressed the importance of forging an enduring ceasefire and opening the crossings to urgently deliver humanitarian aid into Gaza.
During his meeting with the High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, Abbas emphasized the need to compel Israel to stop its assaults on cities, villages, and Palestinian camps in the West Bank.
He also called for halting unlawful settlement expansion, settlers’ attacks, and the seizing and deduction of Palestinian tax funds in violation of international law.
Additionally, Abbas stated that it is imperative to establish a political process based on the internationally backed two-state solution. He urged support for the State of Palestine to obtain full membership in the United Nations, alongside increasing European recognition of the State of Palestine on the 1967 borders.
