Pandey Appointed as New Secretary-General of Federal Parliament Secretariat
President Ramchandra Paudel has appointed Padam Prasad Pandey as the new Secretary-General of the Federal Parliament Secretariat on Tuesday. The decision, made in accordance with Article 106 (1) of the Constitution, marks a pivotal moment in parliamentary administration.
Pandey’s appointment, announced via an official notice from the Office of the President, follows the resignation of Dr. Bharat Gautam from the position. The recommendation for Pandey’s appointment was championed by the Speakers of both the House of Representatives and the National Assembly, Devraj Ghimire and Ganesh Prasad Timalsina respectively, before being presented to President Paudel.
With extensive experience in parliamentary affairs, Pandey previously served as the Secretary of the Federal Parliament during Dr. Gautam’s tenure, showcasing his adeptness in administrative roles within the legislative domain. Prior to his parliamentary service, Pandey held the esteemed position of Deputy Attorney General in the Office of the Attorney General.
As the newly appointed Secretary-General, Pandey assumes a central role in steering the administrative functions of the Federal Parliament Secretariat.
