“Parliament is ‘HIJACKED’ !!”

Rabi Lamichhane, the President of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has expressed his concerns about the proceedings and the style of work by Speaker Devraj Ghimire.

Speaking to reporters at the Parliament House, Lamichhane alleged that the House had been “hijacked” and questioned the Speaker’s handling of the situation. He emphasized, “Parliament has been hijacked; it cannot be hijacked.” Lamichhane directed his criticism towards Speaker Ghimire, stating that individuals who have left their respective parties to assume positions within the House should not regain their party affiliations while occupying the honorable parliamentary chair.

Lamichhane highlighted that he possessed crucial information that he intended to present in Parliament; however, he claimed that the Speaker had not provided him with the opportunity to do so. Expressing disappointment, he remarked, “This situation is disheartening for a fledgling political party like ours, which upholds the principles of parliamentary values. Such a turn of events was not within our expectations.”
