Parliamentary Delegation from Nepal Visits Wankhade Cricket Stadium in Mumbai
An eight-member delegation led by Chairman Raj Kishore Yadav of the Parliamentary Committee on International Relations and Tourism visited the prestigious Wankhade Cricket Stadium in Mumbai today. During his visit to Nepal, Minister Jaishankar announced a groundbreaking initiative, extending an offer of a ‘home ground’ on Indian soil to the Nepali national cricket team. Captain Rohit Poudel, representing the Nepali cricket team, expressed heartfelt gratitude for this unexpected and generous gesture from the Indian government.
The current delegation, consisting of members Sunita Baral, Chhiring Bahadur Lhamu Lama Tamang, Yakaman Thapalia, Yogesh Gauchan, Hari Upreti, Shishir Khanal, and Gangaram Chaudhary, is on a visit to India from January 30 to February 6. The visit is in response to an invitation from India’s corresponding Parliamentary Committee, showcasing the strengthening ties between the two nations.
