Parliamentary Investigation Committee Timeline Extended; Reports and Bills Presented in House of Representatives
The House of Representatives (HoR) has extended the timeline for the parliamentary investigation special committee on the misuse of cooperative funds by 14 days. The extension was granted unanimously during today’s HoR meeting, following a proposal presented by Committee President Surya Bahadur Thapa.
In the same session, Ammar Bahadur Thapa, President of the Education, Health, and Information Technology Committee, presented reports on two significant bills. The Committee’s report on the Nepal University Bill, 2081 BS, and the Public Service Broadcasting Bill, 2081 BS, were both discussed.
Additionally, the HoR unanimously approved the proposal to send the Securities (First Amendment) Bill, 2081 BS, and the Economic Procedure and Fiscal Responsibility (First Amendment) Bill, 2081 BS, to the concerned committees for detailed clause-wise discussion.
Speaker Devraj Ghimire also read out a letter from the Office of the President concerning the certification of the bill.
The next meeting of the HoR is scheduled to take place at 1:00 pm on September 9.
