Permission to remand Sandeep in custody for four more days

The Kathmandu District Court has granted permission to keep cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane in custody for four more days for investigation.

Earlier, on October 13 the Kathmandu District Court granted Sandeep to keep in custody for five more days for investigation as the deadline for the investigation ended on October 12.

Now the police report about Sandeep Lamichhane will be submitted to the court next Sunday.

The police will be able to detain Sandeep for a maximum of 24 days for investigation.

He was arrested on rape charges at the Tribhuvan International Airport soon after his arrival in Nepal.

September 11: The Department of Immigration blacklists rape-accused Lamichhane so that the police can arrest him as soon as he enters the country.

September 25: Lamichhane says he is in isolation to deal with stress but will return to defend the case.

September 26: Nepal Police circulates a diffusion notice among all Interpol members, seeking help to arrest him.

October 6: Lamichhane arrives in Nepal to get arrested.

October 10: Lamichhane gets remanded for seven days to let the police continue the investigation.

October 13: The remand is extended by five days.

October 19: The remand is extended by four days again.
