Pilgrims Stranded on Kailash Manasarovar Route Due to Flooded Road
Heavy rainfall has caused a road leading to China to be damaged, leaving pilgrims on their way to and from Kailash Manasarovar stranded. According to Bed Nidhi Khanal, the Chief District Officer of Rasuwa, a flood in the Kerung rivulet, located five kilometers north of the Miteri Bridge in Rasuwagadhi, has washed over the highway, disrupting vehicular movement.
Approximately 500 pilgrims returning to Nepal after visiting Kailash Manasarovar are currently stranded in Kerung, while around 100 pilgrims heading towards Kailash Manasarovar are stuck in Rasuwagadhi due to the transport disruption.
Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force (APF) Company No. 20 in Rasuwa are coordinating efforts to assist the stranded pilgrims. The local administration has requested the Kerung Administration to take prompt action to restore vehicular movement and facilitate the journey for those heading towards Kailash Manasarovar, Khanal added.
