PM Oli Departs for Thailand on Historic Official Visit

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is set to depart for Thailand today on an official visit at the invitation of Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra. The visit, scheduled from April 1 to 5, marks the first-ever official visit by a Nepali Prime Minister to the Kingdom of Thailand.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Prime Minister Oli will be accompanied by his spouse, Radhika Shakya, and a high-level delegation. During the visit, he will hold official talks with Prime Minister Shinawatra to discuss various aspects of bilateral relations between Nepal and Thailand.

Following his official engagements, PM Oli will lead the Nepali delegation to the Sixth Summit of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC), which will take place on April 4 in Bangkok. He is scheduled to address the summit and hold bilateral meetings with leaders from other BIMSTEC member states on the sidelines of the event.

The Nepali delegation includes Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, Chief Adviser to the Prime Minister Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Economic and Development Adviser Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada, Chief Secretary Ekanarayan Aryal, and Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai, among others.

Prime Minister Oli is expected to return to Nepal on April 5.
