PM Oli Meets Thai King Vajiralongkorn During Official Visit

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli paid a courtesy call on Thailand’s King Maha Vajiralongkorn on Wednesday as part of his official visit to Bangkok. The meeting took place at Amphorn Palace, where the Thai royal couple welcomed PM Oli and First Lady Radhika Shakya.

PM Oli is in Thailand to attend the sixth summit of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC). Earlier, he held a bilateral meeting with his Thai counterpart, Paetongtarn Shinawatra, at the latter’s official residence.

The Prime Minister arrived in Bangkok on April 1 at the invitation of his Thai counterpart. His delegation includes First Lady Radhika Shakya, Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, Chief Adviser Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Economic and Development Adviser Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada, Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal, and Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai.
