PM Oli Seeks Turkish President’s Help for Release of Nepali Student

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has reached out to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to request diplomatic assistance for the safe release of Bipin Joshi, a Nepali student reportedly held hostage by the Palestinian extremist group Hamas.

During a phone call, President Erdoğan assured PM Oli that he would consider the matter seriously and attempt to facilitate Joshi’s release. He also encouraged PM Oli to communicate this message to Joshi’s family and the Nepali community.

Additionally, the two leaders discussed possibilities for enhancing economic and scientific cooperation, as well as expanding bilateral relations. Erdoğan also reiterated his invitation to PM Oli to attend a diplomatic conference in Turkey this April.

Previously, on March 12, PM Oli had contacted Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to seek his support for Joshi’s release.
