Police refuses to register complaint against Rabi Lamichhane

The police have refused to register a complaint against the Chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Rabi Lamichhane, over his passport issue.

Advocate Yuvraj Paudel ‘Safal’ had reached to Kathmandu Police Office on Tuesday requesting the police to file a case against former Home Minister Lamichhane on allegations of presenting fraud document to receive passport.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dan Bahadur Karki, they did not register a case over this issue as the full text of the Supreme Court’s verdict on Lamichhane’s citizenship dispute has not made public yet.

The Supreme Court on Friday had scrapped Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Rabi Lamichhane’s status as a member of the House of Representatives saying that didn’t re-acquired Nepali citizenship after renouncing his United States citizenship.
