Police Seize 26 Boxes of Firecrackers in Dhulikhel, Driver Flees Scene
Police have confiscated 26 boxes of illegal firecrackers from a truck in Kavrevanjyang, Dhulikhel Municipality, Ward No. 9, during a routine inspection on the BP Highway.
The truck, with license plate Na. 5 Kha. 7179, was en route from Siraha to Kathmandu when it was stopped for a check on Saturday evening. Upon inspection, officers discovered various types of firecrackers, believed to be intended for sale during the upcoming festival season.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajkumar Shrestha from the District Police Office reported that the truck driver fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle and its cargo. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident, and efforts to apprehend the driver are ongoing.
The possession and sale of firecrackers are prohibited in Nepal, particularly during festive seasons, due to safety concerns and potential misuse.
