Nepal’s pioneering digital calendar, Nepali Patro, has marked a significant milestone by surpassing 10 million downloads on the Google Play Store. Developed based on Vikram Samvat, the traditional Nepali calendar, Nepali Patro offers a comprehensive repository of factual information about Nepali dates, festivals, cultural practices, and religious observances from various communities.

Launched as the country’s first popular mobile app of its kind, Nepali Patro has garnered acclaim for its diverse range of features tailored to everyday life. These include a radio streaming service, news updates (Yo Gajjab Chha), Vedic calendar, horoscopes, price lists, astrology, and more. The app has maintained a commendable user rating of 4.3 stars on the Google Play Store, reflecting its popularity and utility among users.

Ashish Karki, a representative of Nepali Patro, highlighted that the app provides access to over 400 prominent radio stations across Nepal, offering a mix of informative and entertaining content. Notably, Nepali Patro boasts over 1 million daily active users and exceeds 10 million monthly active users, underscoring its widespread adoption and relevance.

In a pioneering move for Nepal, Nepali Patro enables users to listen to radio programs at their convenience, aligning broadcasts with the listeners’ preferred times. The app archives programs from the past 48 hours, ensuring users can catch up on missed shows easily. Detailed program schedules and playback options are accessible through the app’s radio feature.

The app’s extensive reach extends to more than 150 leading online news portals and over 350 radio stations nationwide, making it the largest communication network in Nepal. Recently, NetTV, a prominent media distributor, integrated radio streaming capabilities within Nepali Patro, further enhancing its appeal and functionality.
