Prachanda Advocates Inevitable Unity Among Maoist Forces to Safeguard Achievements
Kathmandu, January 27 – Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ also the Chairperson of CPN (Maoist Center), emphasized the necessity of unity among Maoist forces to preserve the transformative changes accomplished through the people’s struggle. Speaking at the 14th Annual General Meeting of Martyrs Foundation Nepal, held at Parisdanda, the headquarters of CPN (MC), Prachanda appealed to leaders and cadres of the Maoist movement nationwide to unite for a common cause.
Acknowledging the state’s efforts in addressing the concerns of martyrs, disappeared individuals, and those injured during the people’s war, Prime Minister Dahal expressed his commitment to re-categorize survivors of the people’s war. As the patron of the foundation, he assured that the state would take responsibility for the schools operated by the foundation, with the school education bill currently before parliament covering these institutions.
Prachanda urged party leaders and cadres to disseminate positive achievements of the Party and its leadership to the public. He highlighted the government’s initiatives in economic prosperity, good governance, and social justice, asserting that these efforts have instilled hope among the people. While emphasizing the government’s commitment to concluding the remaining aspects of the peace process promptly, he expressed confidence that the bill related to transitional justice would be finalized through consensus.
Deputy General Secretary of the party and former Minister Janardan Sharma underscored the need for determination among the leadership and the entire party to fulfill the dreams of martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country’s transformation. Meanwhile, President of the foundation, Dharmashila Chapagain, outlined the organization’s vision to evolve into a center of unity.
As Nepal navigates its political landscape, Prachanda’s call for unity within Maoist forces reflects an ongoing commitment to consolidate and safeguard the gains achieved through historical struggles, underscoring the significance of collective efforts in shaping the nation’s future.
