At a press conference organized by the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers, officials shared that the summit will showcase 54 projects across eight key sectors, including tourism, industry, information technology, agriculture, hydropower, and infrastructure. These projects are expected to attract investment commitments totaling approximately Rs 139.30 billion.
The primary aim of the summit is to position Koshi Province as a leading investment destination. Officials believe the event will play a critical role in fostering an industrial ecosystem and support the goals outlined in the province’s second periodic plan, which aligns with the long-term vision of a “Clean, Happy, and Prosperous Province.”
Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki expressed optimism that the summit would pave the way for significant advancements in industrial development and job creation. He emphasized that the initiative seeks to mobilize capital within the province and attract investment from the private sector, non-resident Nepalis (NRNs), and international stakeholders.
Minister for Internal Affairs and Law, Rewati Raman Bhandari, stated that the provincial government is committed to creating an investor-friendly environment. He noted that necessary policy changes and legal reforms, including amendments through ordinances, would be introduced to facilitate investment.
Speaking at the event, Pawan Kumar Timilsina, Secretary of the Province and Coordinator of the Summit, along with Dr. Saroj Koirala, Executive Director of the Province Investment Authority, highlighted that policy reforms, legal clarity, and administrative streamlining would further ease the path for both domestic and foreign investors.
