President Poudel quits all responsibilities of Nepali Congress
President Ram Chandra Paudel on Sunday announced that he quit all positions of Nepali Congress after being elected the Head of State.
Poudel, who was elected as the President on Thursday, submitted his resignation from all NC positions.
Paudel today wrote to the Nepali Congress central office, informing it about his dissociation with the party as its member since he has been elected the President, said the party’s chief secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel.
President-elect Paudel is scheduled to take oath of office and secrecy tomorrow. The Office of the President has made preparation for organising a special ceremony at 1:00pm on Monday for the administration of oath to the newly-elected President.
Poudel was elected president on March 9, defeating Subash Chandra Nembang of the CPN-UML. His tenure will be five years. President Bidya Devi Bhandari’s tenure is ending today.
