President Ram Chandra Paudel Extends Best Wishes on the Occasion of Indrajatra Festival
President Ram Chandra Paudel has extended heartfelt wishes to all Nepali sisters and brothers on the occasion of the Indrajatra festival today, expressing hopes for peace, prosperity, and happiness.
In his message, the President highlighted the significance of the festival, where the God of rain and harvest, Indra, along with the living Goddess Kumari, are worshipped. He also noted the chariot processions of Lord Ganesh and Bhairav as key elements of the celebration.
“We pay obeisance to God Indra for a good harvest, reflecting the deep relationship between humans and nature,” President Paudel said, emphasizing the role of such native festivals in preserving ancient civilizations.
The festival is primarily celebrated in the districts of the Kathmandu Valley, as well as in Kavrepalanchowk and Dolakha.
The President expressed his belief that Indrajatra fosters national unity, harmony, and goodwill among people from various cultures, languages, and regions. He also wished that the festival would inspire everyone to work towards social justice and economic prosperity through the balanced and sustainable use of natural resources.
