President Ramchandra Poudel Meets Chinese Leader Yuan Jiajun to Boost Relations
President Ramchandra Poudel welcomed Yuan Jiajun, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, for a courtesy meeting at Rashtrapati Bhawan Sheetal Niwas on Sunday. Yuan’s visit to Nepal, part of his three-day tour, aims to foster bilateral interests and enhance mutual relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, President Poudel emphasized the long-standing history of friendship between Nepal and China, stating that both nations have been good neighbors for centuries. He expressed his optimism that such high-level visits would play a vital role in further strengthening the bond between Nepal and China.
Foreign expert Dr. Suresh Chalise, who accompanied the President, revealed that discussions primarily focused on the reinforcement of mutual interests. The Chinese delegation, led by Yuan, was also joined by the Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Chen Song, and other members.
Yuan’s visit to Nepal followed his trip to Sri Lanka, signifying the importance China places on its relationship with South Asian nations. The meeting served as an opportunity to reaffirm Nepal and China’s commitment to deepening cooperation and understanding between the two neighboring countries.
The Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Chen Song, and other members of the delegation, including foreign expert Chalise, President’s Office Secretary Dilliraj Sharma, and Foreign Ministry’s China Desk chief Lok Bahadur Thapa, were also present on the occasion.
