President visits Patan Krishna Temple on Krishna Janmashtami
President Ramchandra Paudel today visited the historic Krishna Temple based on the premises of Patan Durbar Square in Lalitpur on the occasion of the Shree Krishna Janmashtami festival.
On the auspicious day celebrating the birth of Lord Shree Krishna, the Head of State paid his respects to the deity and received prasad from the temple priest.
Lawmakers from the Lalitput constituency 1 and 2 Uday Shumsher Rana and Prem Bahadur Maharjan, Bagmati Province industry minister Ram Krishna Chitrakar, Lalitpur metropolis mayor Chiribabu Maharjan and other people’s representatives, Lalitpur’s Chief District Officer, Rudra Prasad Pandit, civil service employees, locals, and devotees were there to welcome the President during his visit to the historic shrine.
On the occasion, the President keenly observed cultural heritages along Durbar Square and Mayor Maharjan apprised him of the significance of such heritages.
The area listed in the UNESCO World Heritage List attracts a large number of visitors from home and abroad each day.
Today, scores of devotees thronged the temple since early morning today to observe the Krishna Janmashtami.
