Presidential election: UML Chair Oli voted

CPN (UML) Chair KP Sharma Oli has voted in the election of the President.

The former Prime Minister today reached the Federal Parliament Voting Centre set up in the Lhotse Hall of the Federal Parliament Building in New Baneshwor to take part in the voting.

Talking to the media after the voting, the leader said the next President to be elected today is mandated to be accountable to the nation and the people by promoting national sovereignty and independence.

“The President of the State is not expected to consider the interests of a certain group. The post demands the person who occupies the position to perform with integrity for the cause of the nation,” he said, applauding the performance of two Presidents- the previous and the outgoing.  He also took time to give a 100 score to the outgoing President if he was asked to evaluate her role and performance.
