Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli Commends Civil Servants’ Role in Political Progress

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has praised the significant contribution of civil servants in bringing about progressive political changes in Nepal. In a message released on the occasion of Civil Servants Day, the Prime Minister highlighted the pivotal role civil servants played during the struggle against autocratic rule and other democratic movements in the country, despite facing challenges in securing their own professional rights.

Civil Servants Day, observed annually on Bhadau 22 in the Lunar calendar, marks the formal establishment of the civil service under a legal framework. Prime Minister Oli emphasized the need for unity, fair conduct, and high morale within the civil service to promote good governance and development. He urged civil servants to enhance their competencies and commit themselves to serving the country and its people with integrity.

“The role of civil servants is crucial in delivering the benefits of democracy to the people, serving the public, and building citizens’ trust in the state,” the Prime Minister stated. He encouraged civil servants to demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and efficiency with dignity to achieve the national vision of a “Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepalis.”

Additionally, Prime Minister Oli lauded the volunteerism and dedication shown by civil servants during disasters such as floods, landslides, and fires. He called on civil servants to work towards providing easy, efficient, and timely services to the public, ensuring that the needs of the people are met effectively.
