Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli Receives Invitation from Qatar to Attend ACD Summit
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has been formally invited by the King of Qatar to attend the upcoming Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Summit, which is scheduled to take place in Qatar this October. The invitation was delivered by the Ambassador of Qatar to Nepal, Mishaal Bin Mohamed Ali Al-Ansari, during a meeting with Prime Minister Oli at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singh Durbar today.
During the meeting, discussions were held on various matters of mutual interest and the strengthening of relations between Nepal and Qatar, according to the PM’s Secretariat.
The Asian Cooperation Dialogue, established in 2002 and based in Kuwait City, is an intergovernmental organization aimed at fostering cooperation across Asia and ensuring coordination among different regional organizations, such as ASEAN, the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Eurasian Economic Union, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, and SAARC. Nepal, which became a member of the ACD in 2016, is one of the 35 member states participating in this continental-level initiative.
The ACD Summit provides a platform for member states to discuss and enhance regional collaboration on various issues, including economic development, security, and cultural exchange. Prime Minister Oli’s participation in the summit is expected to further strengthen Nepal’s ties with other Asian countries and contribute to regional cooperation.
