Prime Minister Oli Meets Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri
India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, currently on a two-day official visit to Nepal, met with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Sunday afternoon. The meeting took place at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singhadarbar, where both leaders discussed various aspects of Nepal-India relations and cooperation.
The meeting was also attended by Nepal’s Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal and Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava, highlighting the importance of the visit in strengthening bilateral ties.
Foreign Secretary Misri arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday morning at the invitation of his Nepali counterpart, Sewa Lamsal. His visit includes a series of high-level meetings aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two neighboring countries.
Earlier in the day, Misri inaugurated and inspected the newly constructed building of the Nepal Bhasha Parishad at Naradevi in Kathmandu, a project supported by the Government of India.
After the meeting with Prime Minister Oli, Foreign Secretary Misri met with President Ramchandra Paudel. His itinerary includes meetings with other key figures in the Nepali government, including Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister Prakashman Singh, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel, Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar, and Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba.
Foreign Secretary Misri’s visit underscores the ongoing dialogue and collaboration between Nepal and India. As part of his visit, he is scheduled to attend a dinner hosted by his Nepali counterpart, Sewa Lamsal, on Sunday evening. The visit is expected to further cement the longstanding relationship between the two countries and explore new avenues for cooperation.
