
Prime Minister Oli Returns After Official Visit to Thailand and BIMSTEC Summit Participation

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli returned to Nepal today following an official visit to Thailand and his participation in the 6th Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) Summit.
Upon his arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Prime Minister Oli was received with a guard of honour presented by the Nepali Army. He was welcomed at the VIP lounge by Deputy Prime Minister Prakash Man Singh, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey, senior government officials, and heads of security agencies. The Dean of the Diplomatic Community in Nepal, the Ambassador of Egypt, and the Acting Ambassador of Thailand were also present to extend greetings.
Prime Minister Oli departed for Thailand on Chaitra 19, leading a 21-member delegation at the invitation of Thai Prime Minister Pe Thong Than Shinawatra. During his stay, he held bilateral meetings with several regional leaders, including Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, discussing matters of mutual interest and regional cooperation.
On Chaitra 22, Prime Minister Oli addressed the BIMSTEC Summit, highlighting Nepal’s commitment to regional integration and development. Prior to the summit, he attended a formal dinner hosted in honor of the participating heads of state and government on Chaitra 11. Throughout the summit, Prime Minister Oli engaged in sideline discussions with various leaders from BIMSTEC member states.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by First Lady Radhika Shakya, Foreign Minister Dr. Arju Rana Deuba, Chief Advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Economic and Development Advisor Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada, Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal, and Foreign Secretary Amrit Rai.
