Prime Minister studying VC recommendation committee’s work
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is learnt to be studying whether the vice chancellor recommendation committee had adopted standard of meritocracy in recommending names for the post.
PM Dahal studied the meritocracy of three nominees recommended by the TU Vice chancellor selection and recommendation committee led by Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Ashok Rai.
The selection and recommendation committee had nominated Chitra Bahadur Budhathoki, Kesharjung Baral and Tankanath Dhakal for the appointment by the Prime Minister.
A total of 43 candidates had given presentations as part of proposing candidacies for TU Vice Chancellor, while 14 of them were short listed.
With their presentations and interviews, three of them were listed as final nominees.
Academic attainments, research article, interview and presentation are criteria set for determining suitable candidate for the TU Vice Chancellor.
