
Probe committee formed on road accident


The Sudurpaschim Province government has formed a probe committee to find out the truth and facts behind the jeep accident that occurred on June 20.
Three persons including Minister for Internal Affairs and Law of Sudurpaschim Province, Prithvi Bahadur Singh, his wife Amrita Singh, his sister-in-law Jaya Devi Singh, were killed and two others — Police Constable and driver, were injured when a jeep (Sudurpaschim Province 001 Jha 480) fell some 50 meters off the road at Kedarseu rural municipality-1 in Bajhang district.
A cabinet meeting held on Thursday formed a probe committee under the chairmanship of law secretary of the Office of Chief Minister and Council of Ministers, Ganga Bahadur Kharel.
Senior Superintendent of Police at the Province Police Office, Senior Superintendent of Armed Police Force, Baidanath Division, Attariya, Under-Secretary at the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers, Nabaraj Ojha, Deputy Attorney at the Office of Chief Attorney, Tek Bahadur Thapa, Mechanical engineer of Transport Management Office and Officer of law section of the Internal Affairs Ministry, Bishnu Dutta Awasthi are the members of the probe committee.
The probe committee has been assigned to present its report to the province government within 15 days. Injured police constable and driver are receiving medical treatment in Nepalgunj.
