Rabi Lamichhane’s clandestine meeting with Indian PM’s Brother
Rabi Lamichhane, the President of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party, reportedly held a clandestine meeting with Prahlad Damodar Das Modi, the President of the India Chapter of the World Hindu Federation and the own younger brother of the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. This meeting, according to a reliable source, took place a few weeks ago in Kathmandu.
Prahlad Modi had arrived in Kathmandu for a five-day visit, during which it is believed that he also visited Pokhara without informing the government authorities. He left Pokhara on May 1st and subsequently traveled to New Delhi on May 2nd.
It is worth noting that after assuming the positions of Home Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, Lamichhane issued a ministerial decision banning Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and National Investigation Department officials from engaging in personal meetings with political leaders and representatives of foreign diplomatic missions. He emphasized the need for prior information and official appointments for such interactions. However, Lamichhane’s alleged secret meeting with a foreign individual has raised concerns among many, who perceive it as contradictory and indicative of double standards.
