Rainfall Expected Across Majority of Provinces
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecasted partly to generally cloudy weather across Nepal today, with light rain already occurring in one or two places in the Koshi province. This atmospheric pattern is influenced by westerly winds, local winds, and a low-pressure system formed around Bihar, India.
Throughout the afternoon, the weather is expected to remain partly cloudy across the country. However, light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in various hilly regions, including Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces. Additionally, there is a possibility of light snowfall in certain high hilly and mountainous areas.
As night descends, the cloud cover will persist, with light to moderate rain anticipated in several provinces, accompanied by thunder, lightning, and gusty winds. This weather phenomenon is expected to affect regions primarily in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, with isolated occurrences elsewhere. Furthermore, light snowfall is forecasted in select high hilly and mountainous regions.
Looking ahead to the next 24 hours, the Meteorological Forecasting Division anticipates light rain with thunder and lightning in various hilly regions, including Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, along with isolated occurrences in the Tarai. Similarly, light snowfall is expected in certain high hilly and mountainous areas.
Given the forecasted weather conditions, the Department advises the public to remain vigilant, as the rainfall and snowfall may impact various aspects of daily life, including agriculture, health, tourism, mountaineering, and transportation. Residents are urged to stay informed and take necessary precautions to mitigate any potential disruptions caused by the changing weather patterns.
