Rana returning SC after impeachment motion becomes inactive, NBA meeting underway

The suspended chief justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana is preparing to return to the Supreme Court for work as the impeachment motion that was registered in the parliament against him has become inactive.

Dr. Bharatraj Gautam, the General Secretary of the Federal Parliament Secretariat has given him a letter that the motion has become inactive.

Rana said that he has received the letter from the parliament secretariat.  He also said that he has made preparations on appearing in court today.

An informal emergency meeting of the Nepal Bar Association (NBA) is undergoing now after the suspended Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana made preparations to return to the Supreme Court on Wednesday afternoon.

Rana is set to retire as the country’s Chief Justice on December 13.
