Rastriya Swatantra Party to continue support to Prachanda-led government
The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has decided to continue supporting the Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ led government.
A central committee meeting of the party held on Monday afternoon decided not to withdraw its support to the Prime Minister Dahal’s government.
The meeting, however, did not take any decision on whom to support in the presidential election.
At a time when both the eight-party alliance and the UML have been approaching RSP to solicit votes for their candidates, RSP’s central committee meeting, saying that the national consensus is still in talks, decided to to wait for further developments.
Subash Chandra Nembang of CPN-UML and Ram Chandra Paudel of Nepali Congress have filed nominations for the presidential election scheduled to take place on March 9.
The meeting also decided to contest the by-election in Chitwan-2.
