RSP President Rabi Lamichhane Brought to Pokhara for Investigation in Fraud Case
Rabi Lamichhane, President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, has been transported to Pokhara for an investigation into fraud and organized crime related to the Sooryadarshan Cooperatives Credit and Savings Ltd.
Lamichhane was arrested in Kathmandu on Friday after the Kaski District Court granted permission to take him into judicial custody for further investigation. He was brought to Pokhara by road and taken to the District Police Office, Kaski, around 3:00 am, following a health check-up at the Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences.
Due to a public holiday, Lamichhane is expected to be produced before the court tomorrow. Police continue their investigation into the allegations involving financial misconduct tied to the cooperatives case.
