Season’s First Snowfall in Dhorpatan Brings Relief to Farmers

Dhorpatan experienced its first snowfall of the year, ending a prolonged dry spell. The snowfall, accompanied by rainfall, began on Sunday evening, bringing a significant drop in temperature across the region.
The snowfall has raised hopes among farmers, who believe it will benefit their crops after months of drought. Binod BK, a ranger at Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve, reported that the valley and surrounding areas are now blanketed in white.
Although weather conditions had been deteriorating since last Friday, the snowfall and rain only began on Sunday evening, BK added.
Local resident Prem Bahadur Gharti Magar of Dhorpatan Municipality-9 noted that while the snowfall has made it difficult to feed horses and mules, it will greatly benefit agricultural production.
“The prolonged drought had caused crops to dry up, but this snowfall and rain will help revive them,” he said.
