The second phase of the Motihari-Bara-Amlekhgunj Petroleum Pipeline Project is nearing completion, marking a significant milestone in Nepal-India cooperation. According to the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), 90 percent of the project’s work is finished.
Binitmani Upadhyay, Chief of the Madhes Province Office of the NOC, stated that the remaining tasks are expected to be completed within two months. “Two tanks with a capacity of 4,001 kiloliters each have been prepared, and the task of laying the pipeline has reached its final phase,” he added.
The project has seen a substantial financial investment, with the Government of Nepal contributing Rs 1.54 billion and the Government of India providing Rs 600 million. This collaboration aims to enhance the petroleum supply infrastructure and ensure a steady flow of petroleum products between the two countries.
The completion of this project is expected to significantly improve the efficiency and reliability of petroleum supply in the region, further strengthening the bilateral ties between Nepal and India.
