Senior Advocate Meghraj Pokharel Elected Chair of Supreme Court Bar Association

Senior Advocate Meghraj Pokharel has been elected as the Chairman of the Supreme Court Bar Association. Pokharel secured 368 votes, defeating his closest competitor, Mahesh Thapa, who garnered 181 votes, in a vote count concluded this evening.

The election also saw Ambar Bahadur Raut elected as Vice-Chairman, with Raman Kumar Karn chosen as Secretary. Other key positions included Pun Devi Maharjan as Joint-Secretary and Ram Chandra Poudel as Treasurer.

The newly elected working committee members are Shashi Basnet, Durgamohan Shrestha, Indra Shekhar Khadka, Pradip Kumar Shrestha, Nageshwor Prasad Chaudhary, Nirmal Prasad Upadhyay, Om Krishna Shrestha, Pramod Regmi, Purushottam Lohani, Pradip Kumar Rajbansi, and Satishraj Mainali.

The elections mark a significant reshuffle in the leadership of the association, which represents legal practitioners at the apex court.
