Shalin Was Not Raped Before Death: Post-Mortem Report

The post-mortem report of Shalin Pokhrel, the 14-year-old girl found dead in a hostel in Chitwan, has provided insights into her tragic demise. Contrary to the initial claims made by her family members, the report has ruled out any signs of sexual assault.

The examination, conducted by medical professionals at the Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu, concluded that there was no evidence of rape or sexual violence.

Five forensic experts, including Dr. Gopal Chaudhary and Yugen Dolma Walung from the teaching hospital, examined Shalin’s body. The victim’s family has been claiming that there are injuries on her body. However, according to the post-mortem report, there were no major injuries found on the body.

This finding contradicts the allegations put forth by Pokhrel’s relatives, who had suspected foul play in her death.

Pokhrel’s body was discovered on Saturday morning in her room at the Ekta Shishu Niketan Boarding School in Ratnanagar Municipality-15. She was found hanging from a rope attached to the ceiling fan. Following the discovery, her family demanded a post-mortem examination in Kathmandu, leading to further investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.

In response to a complaint filed by Pokhrel’s family, authorities took action by arresting three individuals connected to the school. The principal, Balhari Devkota, the vice principal, Kiran Bahadur Adhikari, and the hostel warden, Kamal Sharma Paudel, were taken into custody and subsequently remanded for seven days by the Chitwan District Court.

The revelation from the post-mortem report has added a new dimension to the ongoing investigation, prompting authorities to delve deeper into the case.
