Simrik Air chopper crash: One dead, four injured airlifted to Kathmandu

One person has died in a Simrik Air helicopter accident at Bhotkhola-4 of Sankhuwasabha.

Sankhuwasabha Deputy Superintendent of Police Birendra Godar informed that 50-year-old local Bhavin Gurung died in the accident that occurred at 1:10pm on Friday.

The deceased Gurung was working as a helper in the helicopter.

Captain Surendra Poudel, co-pilot Chiring Bhote, another assistant Manoj Thapa and Nepal Electricity Authority employee Vikram Shankar were injured in the helicopter accident.

All the four other injured people have taken to Kathmandu for further treatment. They are out of danger.

According to the police, a helicopter crashed into a tree at Hammaredanda in Sikprung of Bhotkhola rural municipality-4 Hatia in the afternoon.

The helicopter with registration number 9N-AJZ was carrying supplies to the Upper Arun Hydropower Project site.
