‘Society Must Stand Firm Against Status Quo, Opportunistic and Counter-Revolutionary Forces’

Chairman of Nepal Samajwadi Party, Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, emphasized the influence of status quo and opportunistic forces in his recent statement. He highlighted how these forces tend to conform to the prevailing time or situation and adapt their colors accordingly, simply following the crowd.

Dr. Bhattarai expressed that the current phase in world history, including that of Nepal, is a test for all individuals and groups. He urged them to reflect on their roles and act in accordance with their conscience.

Taking to social media, Chairman Bhattarai wrote, “A living fish swims against the tide/wave of water! Dead fish flows with the current/wave!” He emphasized that transformative and progressive forces, both as individuals and collectives, stand firm and confront the counter-revolutionary and radical currents of time and history. By doing so, they show society the way forward. He further stressed that the present global scenario, coupled with the historical challenges and opportunities faced by Nepal, demands that everyone carefully choose their path using discretion.
