Speaker Urges Government to Address Parliamentary Concerns

Speaker Devraj Ghimire has directed the government to respond to multiple concerns raised in the House of Representatives over recent sessions.
The directive came during Tuesday’s House meeting, where lawmakers from the Janamat Party staged a protest over the brief detention of their party patron, Resham Chaudhary. Party lawmaker Abdul Khan declared that they would obstruct House proceedings until the government offers a satisfactory explanation for the incident.
In response, Speaker Ghimire appealed to lawmakers to allow the session to proceed, assuring that Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak would address the issue in the House on May 8. The matter has since been formally added to the parliamentary agenda.
Meanwhile, the budget session is underway with parties engaging in detailed discussions on the government’s newly presented policies and programmes for the fiscal year 2082/83 BS.
